My name is Sashka, and I am a London-based artist, live wedding painter and creative event host.

I love art and people. And dogs. Art, people, and dogs. That is basically the basis of everything I do. Besides the dogs, that usually means teaching others the joy of painting, getting to create something meaningful for someone, or even being trusted to play a role in one of the most important days of someone’s life - their wedding day.

At 19, this same love of art brought me across the seas, away from my hometown in South Africa, to London, originally to study musical theatre. My career eventually took a different direction when I realised I wanted to share art in a softer, more personal way. But my background in performance became one of the most important building blocks for creating Art by Sashka.

My own paintings are realistic in style, but I place more emphasis on capturing the feeling behind a moment, rather than simply recreating an image. My creative workshops and events are similarly tailored to the people in the room; it is extremely important to me that everyone feels comfortable, connected and, most importantly, has a wonderful time.

And, occasionally, I will paint a baboon wearing glasses or a lion sipping whiskey.
